Happy Resurrection Sunday! Christ is Risen! Here’s our family on Easter. In the morning the boys saw some Easter eggs when they first came out of their room, but they waited to pick them up. I tried to distract them with breakfast in a basket (hard-boiled eggs, grapes, and plastic eggs filled with Cheerios) to let Daddy sleep longer before starting the big egg hunt. They were so excited they didn’t eat much breakfast. I finally let them wake up Daddy so they could hunt for eggs.
Micah started off opening each egg as he found it to see what was inside. They all had coins or stickers. This was the first year I hid eggs in more than one room. They did pretty good for a while, but eventually I had to start giving them hints on where to look for more. They also found their special hidden Easter baskets which were filled with toys and candy. After they found most of the eggs and had fun playing with toys from their baskets for a while and even eating one piece of candy, it was time to get ready for church.
The boys had matching Easter duds this year. When I bought them, I thought it might be cool on Easter with it being so early in the year. So I was looking at the sets with long sleeves. I asked the boys if they wanted to match and Micah said yes (Caleb didn’t answer; I don’t think he really cared). I was glad because there was only one set I really liked so I got it in both their sizes. When they first got dressed Caleb didn’t want to wear the sweater vest, until Micah put his on, then Caleb wanted his too. Of course Easter turned out to be a hot day, but they loved their new Easter clothes and insisted they were not hot and didn’t want to change the whole day. They really looked so cute. I like to dress them the same once in a while but don’t want to do it too much and don’t want them to hate it. Right now they seem to like it so it’s fun and cute.
After church we came home for a little while and got ready to go to Grandma Holly & Grandpa Don’s house. All the local Jenkinsons were there for some part of the day. Micah & Caleb’s second cousin Alex, who is 14 months old, lit up when he saw them arrive. It was cute how excited he was to see other little kids. After our meal, Micah and Caleb went inside to play for a while and Mom & Uncle Sean hid some Easter eggs in the backyard. Then they got to do another Easter egg hunt! Micah found quite a few pretty fast, but he was good about helping Caleb and Alex find some too. These eggs were filled with fun mini toys like jumping frogs, necklaces, bracelets, finger puppets, yo-yos, tops, stickers, and bouncy balls. Everyone had fun playing with all the loot. We had a nice afternoon/evening visiting with family and watching the kids play.
